Lifestyle Management

When it comes to living better, knowing where to start can be overwhelming – and staying motivated can be hard. Whether you’re looking to prevent disease, manage a specific health concern, or improve your overall wellbeing, we’re here to help. Using proven strategies around motivation, our team of physicians, nurse practitioners, registered dietitians, exercise specialists, and lifestyle counselors will help you realize your health goals by supporting you in making changes you can keep for life.

Address personal nutrition goals and individual dietary needs to better manage existing health concerns and prevent chronic diseases. Available in-person and by telehealth.

Take the first step in your wellness journey by learning the right strategies to ensure your success in this group-based program. With the guidance of health and wellness experts, set realistic goals, find motivational tools that work, avoid and/or overcome obstacles, and ultimately achieve and sustain your accomplishments using a proven research-based behavioral change method. Available in-person and by telehealth.

It’s much easier to begin and stick with a weight loss plan when you have support! In this group-based program, you will explore motivation, nutrition and physical activity tracking and more in a supportive group environment with expert guidance to set you up for success!

In this group-based program, you will learn the basic components of physical fitness and how to build your own exercise program, find out how to prevent injury and manage recovery, and explore personal challenges to staying motivated. Program includes modified in-session workouts.

This group-based program provides a one-on-one personal strength training program with expert supervision of goal-setting and form. Sessions include assessments and guided, personalized workouts. Available in-person and by telehealth.

Gain a greater understanding of each macro-nutrient and how they support general health in this group-based program. Review the latest guidelines and recommendations and learn about various dietary patterns. Discover how better nutrition helps you live longer and prevent chronic disease.

Gain practical skills around communication, goal-setting, and meditation, to manage your stress, improve your relationships, find a healthier work-life balance, and refocus your priorities in this group-based program.

Explore the studied practice of living mindfully and find out how meditation can help provide more balance, stability and satisfaction in this group-based program. Program may include a day-long silent retreat.

Condition Management

Personal Wellness Coaching

Imagine what you can achieve with a personal wellness coach by your side! Personal wellness coaching for condition management is tailored to fit your individual needs and goals. You'll have the opportunity to work one-on-one with our team of wellness coaches including registered nurses certified in wellness, nutritionists, fitness specialists and stress and mindfulness experts.

In-person, telephonic and telehealth coaching options are available for most programs.

Breathe easier and feel better by gaining a better understanding of proper medication usage and how to avoid harmful triggers.

Understand how to avoid triggers for uncontrolled A-fib, and take necessary safety precautions to prevent complications.

Receive information about how to avoid flare-ups and recognize warning signs that tell you to call your doctor. Modify daily activities to avoid breathlessness and minimize additional lung damage.

Know your target blood pressure and cholesterol levels, and develop a plan to reach them. Create a diet and exercise plan to achieve and maintain a healthy weight, and learn how to manage your medications to keep symptoms in check.

Identify lifestyle choices that will help you manage the symptoms of depression, then learn how to recognize and avoid choices that make symptoms worse. Manage the pain and disability that accompanies osteoarthritis by incorporating beneficial lifestyle choices into your daily routine. This program is open to anyone who is experiencing osteoarthritis of the hip(s), knee(s), shoulder(s) or spine and has had no new numbness in the affected joint.

Learn self-management techniques and lifestyle changes to deal with the consequences of a stroke. Avoid future strokes by learning to control blood pressure and lipid levels through diet, exercise and proper medication management.

UR Medicine EAP

Professional and confidential guidance provided at no cost for employees and members of their households. UR Medicine EAP will help assess issues, and provide short-term counseling and referrals as needed with life events including:
